The Impact of Media Convergence and Integration on the Moroccan Audience

Abstract

The Moroccan media industry is facing major challenges imposed by the
convergence and integration of media outlets thanks to modern technology, including the digital revolution. The latter has affected the audience and local
media companies in a range of aspects, including cultural, technical and
economic. This raises the question of the extent of the impact of this
convergence and integration on the audience and media companies from a
technical and cultural point of view. The main research question is: What is the
impact of this media convergence on the recipient from the cultural and
economic point of view? In this context, the researcher will prepare a
theoretical framework to clarify some opening statements in this regard, in
addition to a questionnaire as a measurement tool to be addressed to a
sample of audiences and some actors in the audiovisual field in order to
answer the above-mentioned questions.
